Our SWT Green Steel already has the very low EPD value of 327 kg CO2e emissions per tonne of shaped steel. We are convinced that there is more to come.
We are continuously refurbishing our company buildings and expanding the existing local heating network from the hot cooling system of the reheating furnace of the rolling mill. We are currently investigating and evaluating the energy refurbishment of one of our workshops together with energy efficiency experts and architects.
The general mechanical workshop (MRG hall) is already heated using the waste heat from our production process. Through additional building insulation and renewal of the heating technology, we will noticeably reduce the heat consumption of the hall and thus free up heating capacities for other buildings. By optimizing our internal local heating network, further natural gas savings can be made in the future.
